Real Tax Relief: No Income Tax Under $150,000
Lydia believes the federal income tax should eventually be eliminated entirely. Government has no inherent claim on what you earn, and the current tax code exists mostly to fund bureaucracy, not the country.
Until that day comes, this is a real step in that direction: anyone earning under $150,000 a year should pay no federal income tax. Not a deduction. Not a credit you have to file for. Zero tax owed, on every dollar earned up to that line.
This is where working and middle-class Michiganders actually live: the nurse, the teacher, the union electrician, the small farmer. The people whose paychecks already get eaten before they see them, partly by taxes, and partly by private insurance premiums, deductibles, and surprise bills that function as a hidden tax with none of the accountability of a real one. This plan puts real income back where it belongs, in their pockets, not the government's.
Policies on this page are living documents. Lydia updates them as research, legislation, and community input evolve. If something here should be sharper, more accurate, or missing entirely, tell her campaign.
