Free Trade, Not Government-Managed Trade
Tariffs are a tax on Americans, not on foreign countries. Consumers paid an estimated $231 billion in tariff costs between February 2025 and January 2026, about $1,745 per household. Lower-income households pay a share of income roughly three times higher than wealthy households, since tariffs raise prices on the goods regular families actually buy: electronics, clothing, groceries, cars.
Lydia supports removing tariffs and other government barriers to trade. If a Michigan business can sell a product cheaper because of free exchange, government shouldn't be the reason it can't.
Policies on this page are living documents. Lydia updates them as research, legislation, and community input evolve. If something here should be sharper, more accurate, or missing entirely, tell her campaign.
